What Makes A Successful Jewellery Business in 2022

In this short video we'll be covering some of the key elements that any jeweller needs to be doing in order to be running a successful business in 2022. The jewellery industry (like any other industry) is always evolving, so what worked a long time ago won't necessarily work now. So it's very likely you will find some area's of your business that might need some attention. I do hope you find it helpful!

connection

Building a community around your brand is an increasingly important area for your business. People are very invested in who they are buying from and we can do lots to connect with them, your email newsletter, asking questions or going live on social media can all help to grow your community.

social media

Focus on one channel! You don’t need to be everywhere all the time so pick a platform where you will share your best content, information about your brand and hang out and interact with your community.

Clarity on What you are selling

Have a really clear image of what you are selling and who you are selling to. This will help you target your customers, attracting the right people for your brand. The more you can move towards this clarity, the stronger your business.

Social Proof

Share your reviews and testimonials! People want to know that you are a real business and that they will receive a beautiful piece of jewellery when they place their order. Even if you just have a couple to start with, these comments will go a long way when growing your business.

Empathy and Awareness

As a business, we need to be sensitive to what’s going on around us. You can also share with your community your own experiences. Acknowledge when times are a bit tricky but show the ways you can still support your community!

Embrace Technology

The technology world is always changing! Use the tools available to you and don’t be afraid to try something new. Something I am enjoying at the moment is using voice notes on Instagram - they add a personal touch and can actually be a bit quicker if you were answering lots of questions. You could also try using video calling features to give your customers a personal shopping experience!

Personal Brand

This ties in to some of the previous points and helps to show who you are as a business owner and makes the customer feel more connected. You don’t have to share your deepest, darkest secrets but don’t be afraid to share your personality.

Email Marketing

Email marketing is a really important tool to help convert your audience into customers. It can be quite daunting if you are just getting started but it is a really effective way of selling your jewellery. Great Photos

Video is getting more and more important but great photos will always be the most important part of the online shopping experience. Having those juicy close up shots, the model photos and sharing your beautiful packing help to give your customers the information they need to make that purchase. Professional photos might not be attainable when your first start out but you can still take your own amazing shots. Take a look at our photography course with Karen Young who shares her knowledge around getting fantastic jewellery product shots.
