Tool & Material Kits

We provide all the tools you need:

When you are just starting out it can be overwhelming choosing which tools to use. We have put together a great starter tool kit for the foundation course which contains the tools you need to work through all the projects and continue making jewellery after.

Plus if you go on to enrol on the ‘1 Year Diploma in Silver Jewellery’ after this course, you can upgrade your tool kit minus the tools you have already received in this kit. So you won’t need to buy any of these tools again.

PLUS all the materials:

Alongside our tool kit you can order a materials kit which contains all the silver, stones, solder and some practice pieces to work through the whole programme along with us.

Make sure you order your kits in time so we can get them to you before your course starts!

Next course start date: Monday 10th June 2024

International kit order deadline: 16th May 2024

UK kit order deadline: 24th May 2024

Kit orders for a June start now open (scroll to the pink buttons at the bottom of the page for all options)

(Please note: these are our recommended kit order dates to send them in time for the start of the course and while we hope and expect that they will arrive on time for the start of the course we cannot guarantee it. If your kit does not arrive in time you can enrol on the following Foundation cohort).

what our students say ..

"The Foundation in Silver Jewellery program was such a great, bite-sized and lower stress way to learn jewellery-making! It was so helpful to receive the right tools to begin this activity and all the needed materials provided in a convenient weekly packet. The program was reasonably-priced, the tutor via Zoom so helpful, and the customer service was brilliant. I couldn’t give this program a higher recommendation."

Meet Your Tutor

Laura Jayne Grey

Meet your wonderful jewellery tutor Laura Jayne Grey.

Laura is a jeweller based in rural Shropshire, working mainly with recycled precious metals, Laura-Jayne keeps eco-friendliness at the heart of her work. The use of textures and patina features heavily in Laura-Jayne’s jewellery, giving her pieces a whimsical folklore feeling.

Laura is an excellent teacher, she is very down-to-earth and giving with her knowledge and skills. Students often comment on how much they enjoy learning from her and we are lucky to have her guide us through this programme.

As well as teaching, she sells her jewellery including commissions and made-to-order pieces through her business, Small Dog Silver.
