This Academy is designed to offer monthly training, support, community and connection to jewellers who are either in the process of starting their own business or those up and running who are looking to learn more about the trade and grow.

Quarterly Business Check-in

OCTOBER: Launches

This month, we'll explore effective strategies for conducting successful launches for your jewellery business. Launching is proving to be highly effective for jewellers, enabling you to generate sales and establish connections with your ideal customers. A launch can be for a new collection or in conjunction with a special campaign, such as for Christmas or Valentine's Day.

NOVEMBER: SELLIng jewellery

If you struggle with selling please don’t worry! It is a skill that can be learnt and it is essential to the growth of a jewellery business. It doesn’t have to be sleazy (in fact it really shouldn’t be). This month we will focus on bringing in sales to your jewellery business and how you can sell from a place of authenticity, creating win-win situations for your business and your customers.

DEcember: Reflecting on your year

As we close out the year together, we will use tools to look back on what worked, what needs to be worked on, and most importantly what lessons were learnt.

This is a gentler month as many jewellers are packing out their final Christmas sales at this time and need some recharging time ready to go again in January.

January: Kickstart Your Year in Business

We start the new year together with some vision setting, business planning, and setting some simple, achievable goals as well as re-connecting to our creativity after a break over the holidays.

FEbruary: BOOTCAMP (8 Week intensive)

The Jewellery Business Bootcamp starts this month and runs for 8 weeks. It is a more intensive part of the programme as there will be weekly videos to watch and weekly live sessions too. It’s a great time to focus on learning new strategies for growth in your business.

MARCH: BOOTCAMP (8 Week Intensive)

Bootcamp continues and we build a solid foundation for the year ahead.

Quarterly Business Check-in

APRIL: PHOTOgraphy

Photography and videography are key to getting your jewellery out there and noticed. It is also an essential sales tool and an ongoing project within your business. This month we will deep dive into all aspects of photography in your jewellery business and equip you with the skills you need to level up.

MAY: Email Marketing

The no.1 sales tool in your jewellery business is emailing people who have asked to be emailed! So we are going to be mastering the art of that together. Setting up your mailing list, creating your welcome emails and sending out monthly or more emails to your list is the way to drive sales online.

JUNE: Website & Webshop

Once we have emailed your customers we need to send them to a great website or webshop to buy from, so this month we will be working together on setting up and optimising your website. We will be covering everything you need to know including product listings, SEO, creating a great user experience and showing your jewellery in its best light.

JULY: MOney mindset & Pricing

Profit is key to ensuring your jewellery business is sustainable and enjoyable to work in. This month we will work together on both the practical side including pricing your work to ensure you make a profit as well as the mindset of having the confidence to charge what you are worth and to handle money in your business (and life) without fear. Sounds great doesn’t it!?

AUGUST: Signature style

Let’s turn our attention to your jewellery! Developing a signature style that represents you as a jeweller and is recognisable will help you to connect and inspire your customers. This month we will be focused on training and support around your unique style of jewellery.

SEPTEMBER: Instagram & social media

Social media is a great way to build a relationship with customers and to build a community around your business. This month we focus on techniques and strategies to grow your accounts, increase your engagement and develop content to attract your ideal customer.

Then we will be ready to do it all again come October, should you choose to join us again.

How the Academy Works

We are professionals in online training for jewellers in Business

And this is a structured and supportive training programme, combining a mixture of live and pre-recorded video training sessions.

We are focused on helping you learn and develop your knowledge and expertise in the key areas of building a strong jewellery business. Providing a full package of training, support sessions, motivation and mentoring.

Who the Academy is for?

This Jewellery Business Academy is perfect for you:

  • If you have a jewellery business or are starting one and would like professional training in the key areas needed to grow.

  • Wherever you are in the world - you don’t need to travel to London to study with us anymore! And the content is about supporting you to build and grow a profitable jewellery business wherever you are in the world.

  • You can make jewellery in any medium e.g. gold. silver, metal clay, beads, polymer clay, wood etc.

  • We welcome jewellers of all levels of jewellery business and support those further along as well as those who are new to the industry.

  • No previous qualifications are necessary.

Each Academy student is fully supported in their learning with

  • One 1-2-1 mentoring session over live video at a time that works for you.

  • Monthly LIVE Zoom sessions with a business mentor in a small group to get the support you need.

  • Exclusive access to the student Facebook group to share your progress and gain feedback 24/7.

  • Monthly lessons that you can watch anytime (time zone is not an issue!)

  • At the end of the course, we will be awarding students a certificate of completion of the Jewellery Business Academy. This is awarded to students that have attended and completed a significant amount of the programme.

This is not simply an online course. This is a community and mentoring programme complete with in-depth business training.

Jessica Rose

So lovely to meet you and welcome! I’m a Jewellery Designer and Entrepreneur. In 2008 I launched the London Jewellery School and grew it to over £500,000 turnover within a few years. I have run 5 different jewellery businesses, won some great business awards, helped over a million people to learn jewellery-making through face-to-face classes and online tutorials. I am the author of the bestselling book ‘Start and Grow a Profitable Jewellery Business’

And for me it all started with a dream to make jewellery (what I love) and make a profit from it (something needed to grow, and buy more gemstones!). Sound familiar?!

Now my focus is on supporting designers like you to do just that, follow your passion and run your own successful jewellery businesses, on your terms.

 
 

Anna Campbell

Anna is a silver clay jeweller, qualified teacher and certified life coach. She is the founder of Jewellery School Scotland based in Edinburgh.

She is also the Community Manager at Jewellers Academy and has been helping to support jewellers in running thriving businesses for over 10 years.

Anna’s business areas of expertise are, mindset, psychology, Instagram, email marketing organisation and motivation for small business owners and sharing about what you love.

 
 

Karen Young

Karen is a handmade jeweller and jewellery photographer based in London.

She is the tutor for the Jewellers Academy course Jewellery Photography. She has been a business mentor on the Jewellery Business Bootcamp since it launched in 2016.

Karen offers remote styled product photography for other handmade business owners.  Karen passionately believes that all handmade artists deserve sharp, well-lit photos of their beautiful handmade designs to capture the hearts and minds of your ideal customers so they stand out and sell more online.

 

Alice Cant

Alice runs her jewellery business Alice Cant Jewellery. She creates sea glass jewellery inspired by the ocean in the Outer Hebrides.

Alice has opened her own shop/studio on the Isle of Lewis to sell her jewellery and share her love of making.

 

Alongside these talented mentors is a growing team of successful jewellers who will be joining as the year goes on. You will be assigned a group and 1-2-1 mentor to match the needs you are facing in your business over the coming 12 months.

That’s fine! Time zone is not an issue for this course. We currently have students from all over the world enjoying our programs.

Is there a way to see what a lesson looks like before committing to the full program ?

Is all the course content released at the start of the month?

Yes. At the start of each month you will get access to all of the content for that month so you can plan your time

How much time do I need to set aside to complete the course ?

We recommend you set aside 3-4 hours a week if you can. You will be watching the pre-recorded video content and then implementing what you learn for your business. If you can only do an hour a week it will still be beneficial to your business

Is the program pre-recorded or do I need to attend live?

The course content will be released at the beginning of the month and will be pre-recorded videos, notes and resources. Time zone is not an issue! The live content will be your monthly mentoring calls, after you've enrolled, we will send you a form to give your preferred time for attending these. There are also monthly masterclasses and these are recorded if you can't join us live.

How do I achieve Jewellery Business Academy certification?

To be eligible for certification you will need to do the following:

  • Access the course monthly (minimum). We will be monitoring logins and content watching
  • Join a mentoring group and attend at least 8 of the 10 live sessions. We'll be taking a register during sessions
  • Book and attend your one-to-one business mentoring session
  • Submit a jewellery business growth plan by the deadline date (This will be during the Bootcamp)

As we have two intakes for the course we have two certification periods.

Period 1 runs from October to September each year. We will collate the data and issue certificates in November 2024.

Period 2 runs from February to January each year. We will collate the data and issue certificates in March 2025.

I'm not in the UK. Will this course be relevant for me?

Yes. The business content of this course is focussed on the actions you need to take in your business for it to grow and be profitable. These actions are not dependent on your location. Do take a look at the course content (near the top of this webpage) to see what we cover on the course

How can I stay accountable and motivated on an online course?

The structured style of the Jewellery Business Academy will help you with this. Each month the content will be released and you will have the month to watch the course and complete the tasks you need to do for your business. There will also be monthly (except Dec and Aug) mentoring group calls to help keep you accountable.

When does payment start if I sign up for a payment plan?

If you choose a payment plan it starts immediately and the payment goes out on the same date each month so if you sign up on the 8th of the month, the payments will go out on the 8th of each month until the plan is complete and the course is paid in full. If you prefer your payment to go out on a certain date e.g. on 1st of the month we suggest signing up on that date as unfortunately we aren’t able to change the date.

Is this course eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan?

As we are a private educational institution unfortunately our courses aren’t eligible for the Advanced Learner Loan. We do offer an 12-month payment plan to help you spread the cost. And remember that this counts as a business expense.

I'm not in the UK, how do the payments work with the exchange rate?

If you are in the US you can choose to pay in US dollars. For other currencies, the monthly payments will fluctuate slightly with exchange rate fluctuations and can go down as well as up. If you want to start a monthly payment programme and then pay off in full when the exchange rate is in your favour you can do this by getting in touch with us contact@jewellersacademy.com
