How the Jewellers Academy Advanced Masterclasses Will Work in 2026/27
Our Advanced Masterclasses are back for 2026/27, but this year we’re running them a little differently.
Rather than opening each Masterclass separately throughout the year, we’re having one annual intake for the full Advanced Masterclass programme.
That means you join once, get immediate access to all three specialist courses, and then work through them across the year with live support from our expert tutors.
Here’s exactly how it will work.
Who are the Advanced Masterclasses for?
These are some of the most technically challenging courses we teach at Jewellers Academy.
They were designed as a follow-on from our Advanced Jewellery Diploma, which is Year 3 of our Diploma programme, so they are aimed at experienced jewellers who already have a strong technical foundation.
You should already be confident with core jewellery-making skills such as:
soldering
piercing
filing and finishing
accurate construction
stone setting
working independently through more technically demanding projects
Some of the individual Masterclasses also require more specific experience.
For example, Fishtail Setting is best suited to jewellers who already have some experience with pavé setting, while Tiara Wedding Rings is our most advanced Masterclass and requires confidence with techniques including claw setting and complex soldering.
If you have completed our Advanced Jewellery Diploma, these courses were designed as a natural next step.
If you trained elsewhere, or have developed an equivalent level of experience through your own jewellery practice, they may also be right for you.
What is included this year?
The 2026/27 Advanced Masterclass Bundle includes three specialist courses.
Decorative Collets with Anelia Kuprina
Learn how to take a functional collet setting and turn it into a decorative feature within your jewellery.
You’ll develop your skills in piercing, shaping, marking out and creating decorative settings for different stone shapes and designs.
You can find photos of the projects above including creating a hexagon gemstone ring with a geometric pierced collet, decorative marquise earrings and a pendant with a domed, pierced setting.
Fishtail Setting with Scott McIntyre
Learn the traditional fishtail setting technique with Master Goldsmith and stone-setting expert Scott McIntyre.
This highly technical setting style is a brilliant next step for jewellers who already have stone-setting experience and want to improve precision and develop more specialist skills.
Tiara Wedding Rings with April Dace
Our most advanced and historically our most popular Masterclass.
You’ll learn the construction and stone-setting techniques involved in creating tiara-style rings, an especially useful skill for jewellers working in fine jewellery, bespoke commissions, engagement rings and wedding jewellery.
You get access to all three courses immediately
As soon as you join the Advanced Masterclass programme, you’ll get access to all three complete courses.
You do not have to wait for each course to be released. That means you can start watching the training straight away and work through the Masterclasses at a pace that suits you and, importantly, you do not need to tackle all three at once.
These are advanced techniques, the aim is not to rush through them. It is to give yourself time to learn the technique, practise it at your bench, troubleshoot your work and build confidence.
Live tutor support throughout the year
Although you get immediate access to all three courses, the live support is spread across the Masterclass year.
We’ll have different periods where we focus on each technique, with live Q&A sessions from the specialist tutor.
That means you can work through a Masterclass, try the projects yourself and then bring your questions to the tutor.
You’ll also be part of our private Masterclass community, where you can share your work and learn alongside other experienced jewellers taking on the same advanced techniques.
The first live support sessions will focus on Decorative Collets with Anelia Kuprina, followed by Fishtail Setting with Scott McIntyre and further support across the Masterclass year.
One intake for the whole year
This is the biggest change. We are opening enrolment once for the entire 2026/27 Advanced Masterclass programme.
Enrolment closes on 31st October 2026.
We will not reopen enrolment when the individual Masterclasses come up later in the year. So, for example, if Fishtail Setting is the course you are most excited about and you plan to work through it later, you still need to join during this annual enrolment window.
Once you’re in, you have access to the full programme and can work through the training across the year.
