We’ve come to the end of another year and while our thoughts and plans turn to 2024 do spend some time reflecting on what you achieved this year.
It has been lovely to bring together a round-up of the achievements of the Diploma graduates, a look at new courses for the year and some firsts that happened in 2023.

In 2023 285 of you achieved a pass in one of our Diploma courses. A huge congratulations to you all. I can’t wait to see what you do next and I am cheering you on.

In March this year we launched our fourth brand new one year online Diploma - Diploma in Silver Metal Clay
With masterclasses from world famous metal clay artists Julia Rai, Joy Funnell, Anna Mazon and Tracey Spurgin, we’re excited to have a course that’s unique. The first intake of the course have just completed term 1 and we’re looking forward to seeing what they make.
new - Foundation in Silver Jewellery
In October 2023 we launched the first Foundation in Silver Jewellery - a five week supported course for people wanting to get a taste of working with silver. The course is run like our Diploma courses, with fortnightly live Q&As and a one to one mentoring session for support.

jewellery business academy
In September, we launched the brand new Jewellery Business Academy, a 1-Year group training & mentoring programme for anyone looking to start and grow a jewellery business. We’ve only been running for a few months and I’m loving the sense of community support and growth that is already happening.
coffee mornings
We ran in person coffee mornings in London, Brighton, Bristol, Manchester and Edinburgh. It was a lovely opportunity to meet some of you in person, to connect and to talk all things jewellery business!
jewellers academy podcast
The Jewellers Academy podcast continued to grow, with weekly episodes released every Monday.
In 2023 you downloaded 112,538 episodes! And that doesn't include the number of streamed episodes for the year!
We also introduced four new podcast hosts joining me to hear from new voices. Our new hosts are Anna Campbell, Michelle Lierre, Elin Horgan and Kim Thomson
And we now have a dedicated Jewellers Academy podcast YouTube channel so if you like to see who is speaking do subscribe!
jewelfund
I once again awarded two people a grant, this year of £2000 each to spend on their jewellery businesses. The winners also receive mentoring from me through the year and I’m looking forward to continuing to support them.
The winners were Emily Fletcher and Soraya Veldhuizen.
the jewellers retreat season 2
In summer 2023 we filmed season 2 of The Jewellers Retreat. I invited three Advanced Diploma students to my house for three days of making. Each day they had a different project to complete with only a limited time. The students did so well, I’d love you to watch.
e-book
My bestselling book ‘Start and Grow a Profitable Jewellery Business’ came out in an e-book version.
