Meet the Diploma in Silver Jewellery tutor team.

 

Hayley Kruger

Hayley Kruger is a jewellery designer and jewellery industry professional who has worked in many aspects of the trade since 2002. With a BA Honours in Jewellery and Silversmithing, Hayley went onto work as a designer for many of the UK's most recognisable retailers such as Top Shop, Marks & Spencer, River Island, Next, Lola Rose, Orelia, Morgan and many more.

She taught for many years at the London Jewellery School and has been a mentor for the Jewellers Academy Diploma courses since the beginning, currently mentoring on the Advanced Jewellery Diploma.

Hayley was invited to show her work at the Victoria and Albert Museum, has been published in Vogue, Stylist and Marie Claire to name a few. And she was invited to be an ambassador for Triumph Lingerie's Women in Making campaigns.

Using the experience she gained, Hayley now works from her studio in Cirencester on private commissions including engagement rings and shares her knowledge on various aspects of the jewellery industry.

 

 

Anelia Kuprina

Anelia Kuprina is an award-winning independent London jewellery designer, who combines traditional hand-making techniques with modern technologies to create exquisite jewels.

In the ten years that she has spent in the industry, she has worked for leading UK jewellery companies, West End ateliers and the time-honoured workshops of Hatton Garden. This has given her the opportunity to immerse herself in the rarefied world of high-end jewellery manufacturing. This practical training has also endowed her with the skills necessary to be able to expertly manipulate precious metals and infuse meticulous precision into her work.

 

 

Laura-Jayne Grey

Laura-Jayne Grey is a jeweller based in rural Shropshire. Working mainly with recycled precious metals, Laura-Jayne keeps eco-friendliness at the heart of her work.

The use of textures and patina features heavily in Laura-Jayne’s jewellery, giving her pieces a whimsical folklore feeling. She has jewellery and commissions available from her business Small Dog Silver.

 

 

Jane Taylor

Jane specialises in bespoke handmade jewellery. From client commissions to one-off pieces, Taylormade for beautiful gemstones. Jane established Jewelled in 2001 and has had a successful store in Godalming High Street for almost 20 years, building a reputation for providing a professional yet friendly service with expert craftsmanship.

 

 

Kelly Twigg

Kelly began making beaded jewellery as a hobby several years ago whilst still serving as an officer in the Royal Navy. In 2013 her husband was given an overseas posting to the USA, so she left the military to accompany him and focus on having a family.

On their return to the UK they moved to Alverstoke on the south coast of Hampshire, where Kelly’s love for the sea and beachcombing led to her taking up metalsmithing in order to make something with all the sea glass she found.

She went on to establish her own business in the summer of 2019 and her love for jewellery making continues. She works mainly in silver and loves to include gemstones in her pieces too.

Whilst proud of being self-taught, Kelly decided to help her business grow by enrolling on the Diploma In Silver Jewellery so she can consolidate her existing skills and learn a variety of new techniques too.

She is also very active on Instagram where she shares lots of jewellery-making tips and techniques as well as her finished work.

 

 

Elin Horgan

Elin Horgan is a Bristol-based jewellery designer and maker with over 10 years of experience in the industry. She makes her own collections, makes her own collections incorporating wax carved & cast designs. Her geometric designs are inspired by abstract art, architecture and the urban environment, which she sells online and through selected independent shops & galleries in the UK. Elin's work was chosen to be a part of the Royal Academy's RA-ted programme which supported a small group of emerging designers by selling a selection of their work through it's shop. Elin has also exhibited at international conferences.

 

 

April Dace

April is a jewellery designer, maker and repairer based in Norfolk. After 4 years studying jewellery at university and 5 years working in jewellery workshops around East Anglia, April took the leap to become her own boss working on her bespoke jewellery business, April Dace Jewellery back in 2020, and she’s never looked back!

She runs her bespoke jewellery business, April Dace Jewellery, from her home studio and workshop in Norfolk, designing and making jewellery to commission in gold, silver, platinum and gemstones in all manner of styles to suit her clients requirements. She also carries out repairs and makes jewellery part-time at a local jewellers.

 

 

Jessica Rose

Jessica Rose is a jewellery designer-maker and the Founder of Jewellers Academy and Jewellers Academy Brighton. She also founded the award-winning London Jewellery School, which was Europe's largest independent jewellery training company.

Jess is extremely passionate about jewellery making and loves supporting jewellers to run their own successful jewellery businesses.

 

 

Karen Young

Karen Young is a jewellery designer and jewellery photographer who has worked in the trade since 2012. After a decade of experience in marketing and project management, Karen retrained to follow her passion for all things handmade.

She taught silver jewellery and business courses for many years at the London Jewellery School and has mentored the Jewellers Academy Diploma courses and The Jewellery Business Bootcamp.

Karen loves nothing more than helping students gain confidence in their photography skills, which in turn helps their businesses flourish and grow.

Karen now works from her studio in Glasgow shooting handmade products for her Clients encompassing eCommerce photography, Styled and Lifestyle Photography and Model Photography.
