jewellery Diploma versus degree: which is right for you?

If you've been wondering how the Diploma courses from Jewellers Academy compare to degree courses then the differences may surprise you.

It's not just about price, although that is a big consideration, with the Diploma costing less than a third of the price of one year of a university degree in England. There are other differences too.

Take a look ..

I Love you I approve of you Keep going! (2).png

I created this Diploma course because this is what I was looking for when I started training but there was nothing like it in the industry. It is different from the traditional route of degree study:

  • It is flexible - learn when you want where you are, location and time zone are no longer a barrier

  • The projects you learn are all designed to be commercially viable. We want you to finish your year with us and be ready to start your own jewellery business or to have a portfolio of work to apply for a bench job

  • Get up close and personal! We are leading the way with our videography. We hire a professional film crew every time we film a new course and you get close-ups that you wouldn't get even if you were in the room with the jeweller. Plus you get lifetime access to watch as often as you like

  • No essays! I'm dyslexic and I know what it's like to have this barrier to academic study. What's more, I just don't think it's necessary for jewellers - your customers won't care! So if you find essay writing hard or English isn't your first language there's no need to worry with our Diploma courses

I wholeheartedly believe that a degree in jewellery making is the right path for some people; I just know they're not for everyone. And for those that want to learn but have barriers to degree study - the Diploma is designed for you!
