Meet the Makers: Explore Wax Jewellery with Three Inspiring Jewellery Artists

Are you passionate about jewellery making and curious about working with wax?

We’ve got something very special coming up that you won’t want to miss.

I’m hosting a live Meet the Makers session on Zoom on Wednesday 4th February 2026, where you’ll hear directly from three talented jewellers who create their collections using wax carving and casting techniques. This free session is a chance to learn how wax is used in real jewellery practices, hear honest stories from working jewellers, and about our upcoming Diploma in Wax Jewellery.

Whether you’re at the very start of your jewellery journey, already experimenting with wax, or considering formal training, this event will give you a clear sense of what’s possible with wax as your medium.

Meet the Makers

Jane Taylor

Jane is a highly experienced bespoke jewellery maker with decades of hands-on practice in the industry. She has built and run her own successful jewellery business, creating custom commissions and one-off pieces from her Surrey studio. Jane is also an experienced tutor, teaching jewellery making and mentoring students, including her work as a tutor with Jewellers Academy. Her work is known for its craftsmanship, attention to detail, and thoughtful use of precious materials.

Elin Horgan

Elin is a jewellery designer and maker based in Bristol with over ten years of experience. Her work is characterised by clean lines, geometric forms, and architectural influences, with many of her collections beginning life in wax. Elin uses wax carving as a core part of her design process, allowing her to explore shape and structure in a highly creative way. Her jewellery is sold online and through independent galleries, and her work has been recognised through initiatives such as the Royal Academy’s RA-ted programme.

Joanne Hunt

Joanne creates jewellery from her home studio in the North East of England, drawing inspiration from coastal landscapes and natural textures. She specialises in lost-wax casting and wax build-up techniques, which she uses to create organic, tactile designs. Alongside running her own jewellery practice, Joanne teaches wax jewellery techniques and supports students learning to work confidently with wax as part of the Diploma in Wax Jewellery.
