What Are Your Jewellery Ambitions? How a Diploma Could Launch Your Career

Have you ever asked yourself where your passion for jewellery could take you?

Whether it's opening your own shop, winning prestigious awards or creating meaningful work as a form of self-expression - ambition comes in many forms.

At Jewellers Academy, we’ve had the privilege of seeing our graduates turn their jewellery dreams into reality.

With enrolment for our jewellery diplomas closing on 13th June 2025, now is the time to consider what your next step could be.

To inspire you, we’re sharing the stories of graduates who have carved their own unique paths — from launching successful brands to exhibiting in world-class shows.

Do you dream of opening your own jewellery shop?

Meet Alice Cant, graduate of the Diploma in Silver Jewellery

Alice was working when she did the Diploma course and she set herself the goal of selling some jewellery each month to make her monthly Diploma payment. That’s how she funded the course. Having graduated in 2022, she went on to open her own jewellery shop on the Scottish Island of Lewis. Her jewellery is very popular, both with visitors to the island and online sales and she currently employs three staff to support her.

Do you dream of making fine jewellery?

Meet Iain Sainsbury, graduate of the Diploma in Fine Jewellery and Advanced Jewellery Diplomas

After a long, successful career in the pharmaceutical industry, Iain wanted to get back to making and creating. He took two of our Diploma courses and now works with precious metals and gemstones, exhibiting at high end fairs and events. He is just back from his second year of exhibiting with Goldsmiths North.

Do you dream of winning awards?

Meet Sally Costen, graduate of the Diplomas in Silver, Fine and Advanced Jewellery.

Sally was a graphic designer and brought her keen eye for design to her training in jewellery making. She has since won numerous Goldsmith’s Craft and Design Council Awards (the Jewellery Oscars) as well as other awards for her work.

Is making your creative outlet?

Meet Tressa, graduate of the Advanced Jewellery Diploma.

Tressa is a surgeon and has no intention of giving up the day job at the moment. She just loves making jewellery and the challenge of learning new techniques.

Whatever your vision — bold, quiet, entrepreneurial, or expressive — our diploma programmes are designed to give you the skills, confidence, and support to make it happen. But ambition needs action. With enrolment closing on 13th June, this is your moment to take that first step toward your future in jewellery. I’d love nothing more than to be sharing your story one day.
