Kate Seow is a graduate of both the Fine and Advanced Diplomas. Kate has exhibited her fine jewellery collection at Goldsmiths North - twice.
Emily Lisbeth. After completing both Fine and Advanced Diplomas, Emily is now confidently working in gold, pricing her pieces sustainably, and teaching jewellery workshops.
Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your jewellery practice to the next level, this video will show you what’s possible. Learn more about our Diploma courses and who knows, maybe one day you’ll be one of the inspiring stories we’re sharing.
Here are a few quotes from the session.
‘Looking back at that first couple of years I’m really proud that I just jumped in with doing the Diploma and jumped in with getting the shop because looking back I can’t believe I did those things. That was a bit extreme! That’s something that I’m really proud of.’
Alice Cant of Alice Catherine Jewellery. Owns her own studio shop and employs three staff members. (Diploma in Silver Jewellery graduate)
‘It’s definitely put me in a different bracket of technical ability but also the confidence that comes with that. Now I feel quite confident in my pricing. I’m working more in gold so it doesn’t take as many sales to get to the profit that you need. It has definitely catapulted me forward.’
Emily Lisbeth of Emily Lisbeth Jewellery (Fine and Advanced Diplomas)
‘It meant that I could take a day a week and I could just sit at the bench and it just almost felt selfish but it was that's my day, I get to learn. I just make for the sake of making. This is for me just to have a go and see what I can do. And that felt so good. By doing the Diploma it made me a lot better at time management overall.’
Kelly Twigg of Willow and Twigg Jewellery. Kelly also spoke about her book deal with Bloomsbury for her upcoming Sea Glass Jewellery book.
(Current student on the Diploma in Silver Jewellery)
‘My experience on the Diplomas, it was about being part of a community where you're regularly meeting. That community has continued, I've made some lifelong friends through doing these Diplomas.’
Kate Seow of Kate Seow Jewellery. Focussing on fine jewellery and exhibiting at the top UK shows.
