Meet Michael Lynton

Master goldsmith Michael S. Lynton has been crafting bespoke jewellery for leading jewellery houses and designers since 1964.

With a special focus on antique recreations, restoration, and repair, Michael has earned his place as a trusted figure in London’s iconic diamond district, Hatton Garden.

From Art Deco engagement rings to modern Art Nouveau tiaras, Michael brings six decades of craftsmanship, an unparalleled understanding of 20th-century jewelry, and a versatile design approach. His ability to create, restore, and reimagine fine jewelry across diverse styles has made him a trusted name among collectors and connoisseurs alike.


Tools & Materials


You will need to source the tools and materials needed for this programme but many of them you may already have around the workshop

The main larger tools you will need include:

  • A torch that has propane or a combined torch with oxygen and propane

  • A rolling mill (for working with scrap metal) - you can do lots of the course without this if needed

How the Training Works

We are professionals in online training for jewellers

Having run online programmes for jewellers for over 12 years, we are world-class leaders in this type of training. This is a self-paced apprenticeship style training combining a mixture of live and pre-recorded video training sessions.

We are focused on helping you learn and develop your jewellery-making skills and abilities through a comprehensive online programme.


Course Dates:


The first Cohort starts on Mon 6th July

and runs with live Q&A and support sessions from Michael until 31st Aug 2026

  • Professionally filmed videos (with lifetime access to come back to anytime in the future)

  • 2 x Live Q&A sessions with Michael over Zoom (these are recorded and added to the course library)

  • Dedicated facebook group with questions answered weekly from Michael and a Jewellers Academy team member in throughout the week to offer additional support.

  • If you love making jewellery and have been doing it for a little while but would love some professional training from a master goldsmith and to learn the tricks of the trade from some one who has been there and done it all.

  • If you would love to start a side business or would like to make jewellery your full-time occupation or perhpase you already have! All levels intermediate and above are welcome here.

  • You would like a training to learn techniques and tips rather than complete projects. This allows already experienced jewellers to get straight to the new learning.

  • If you have other commitments e.g. work, family as you can fit it in when it works for you

  • Wherever you are in the world - you don’t need to travel to study with us anymore!   • You could be a intermediate level or have some more advanced experience of making jewellery and want a structured programme to continue to develop your skills


Gain a Certificate from Michael

Upon completion of the course you may choose to submit photos of your work to be awarded ‘The Goldsmith Series’ Certificate from Michael and Jewellers Academy. This is optional and further details will be provided on how to do this inside the programme.
