answers to your questions

What experience do I need before joining the Diploma?

The Advanced Jewellery Diploma is designed for jewellers who are ready to move into more advanced techniques and materials. Most students progress from our Diploma in Fine Jewellery, but you can also join if you already have equivalent experience. We recommend checking the techniques covered in the Diploma in Silver Jewellery and the Diploma in Fine Jewellery. These are not repeated in the Advanced Jewellery Diploma and the course content builds on those skills.

Materials and tools
A full tools and materials list is provided before ordering, allowing you to check what you already own and what you may need to purchase.

https://www.jewellersacademy.com/tools-and-materials-advanced-diploma

We do not offer a tools and materials kit at this level as jewellers usually have the majority of the tools they require and their preferred materials supplier.

How do monthly payments work?
If you choose a payment plan, your first payment is taken on the day you enrol. Monthly payments are then taken on the same date each month.

Assessment
This is a practical, project-based course. There are no written essays. Assessment is based on your jewellery submissions, with a short written explanation of your inspiration for the final project.

You are required to send your work to us at the end of each term to our warehouse in London, UK. You cover the cost of sending the work to us and we cover the costs for sending it back to you.

Creative freedom
Each project has clear marking criteria, but within that framework you are encouraged to develop your own designs and creative ideas. For your final project you are asked to make a wedding and engagement ring. This is entirely your own design and is intended to showcase your skills and personal style.

Course pricing

The course fee is £3578 and that is the same wherever you are in the world.

This includes a stone setting kit made for you by Scott McIntyre.
